Bosch Communications Systems once again travelled around Australia this February with the CX Summer Roadshow. Two CX trucks pulled into five capital cities in the space of two weeks, reuniting hundreds from the audio, light, and entertainment industries. Starting in Brisbane on the 9th of February, followed by Sydney on the 11th, Melbourne on the 16th, Adelaide on the 18th, and finishing in Perth on the 23rd, Bosch, Dynacord, and Electro-Voice (EV) exhibited a selection of its latest portable, fixed install, and concert sound products, as well as soon-to-be-released conference systems.
“The best thing about the CX Roadshow is that it allows us to get out to our interstate customers with a large selection of the latest product range,” says Brett Johnston, Portable Products Account Representative. “Generally we communicate with these customers on the phone or via email and it is great to get the chance to speak with them face to face.”
The Bosch, Dynacord, and EV booth on the exhibition floor was used to showcase the following products:
In contrast to previous years, Bosch hired a separate demo room in addition to the booth on the exhibition floor. “We had so many new products this year that it was impossible to display all of them on the exhibition stand,” says Tom Grzelak, Bosch Communications Systems’ Strategic Marketing Manager. “We also wanted visitors to experience the quality and performance of the products, and it is very hard to do this on an exhibition floor. The demo room basically allowed us to show and run all of our latest products without disturbing anyone next door. Hearing is believing in this industry.”
Products showcased in the demo room included:

EKX and X2 were certainly the visitors’ clear favourites and the presentation of their capabilities definitely kept people entertained. “The most outstanding thing about the show for me was being asked to turn down our EV X2 system by the people three meeting rooms away” says Jason Hatswell, Communications Sales Channel Manager. “And we only had three elements running at a medium level.”
The cardioid subwoofer mode demonstration with the EKX portable loudspeakers was also well-regarded. “Being able to demonstrate speakers in a dedicated demo room—in particular the EKX cardioid subwoofer demonstration which amazed all who heard it—was fantastic” stated Phill Webb, Bosch Installation Sound Manager.
The CX Roadshow organisers also ran a shoot out of PA systems designed for use for up to 500 people. Our ETX-35P 3-way 15” with the ETX-18SP 18” subwoofer stood up to the challenge going against systems that in many cases were considerably more expensive. We may be a little biased, but we thought the ETX performed extremely well against the big competition.
