Network Optix has released the next version of its Video Management System (VMS) - HD Witness v1.5. The new features include events, alerts and notifications, major PTZ control advancements and full support for Windows 8. The new hardware integrations include ACTi, SONY, Canon, Digital Watchdog’s VMAX digital video recorder and Arecont Vision (new WDR technology).

HD Witness is a simple yet powerful enterprise VMS solution developed to address the most common problems of modern surveillance systems. The application is easy to install, operate, upgrade and maintain. Less than 40MB in size, it takes very little time to download, install and auto-discover all devices connected to the system. The application is extremely easy to use requiring no prior training.

HD Witness is completely cross-platform including Windows, Linux, Android and soon to be released in iOS. Its hyper-optimised architecture provides massive enterprise bandwidth savings, low CPU utilisation and powerful overall forensic surveillance management through a simple and powerful UI. HD Witness is absolutely free to download and currently comes with four free unrestricted-use licenses. There are no annual fees or costs for upgrades.
